At Mysa Hus, long before appliances were on our minds, we started with a feeling. From day one, this home was designed around wellness: how it would support everyday life, encourage gathering, and create a sense of calm. Once that vision was clear, every decision after that became much easier, including what belonged in the kitchen.

One thing I've learned after building custom homes for years is that great projects don't happen because of products alone, but because of relationships. We've worked with ALL, Inc. for well over a decade, and that's one of those partnerships that has only gotten stronger over time.

There are plenty of places to buy appliances, but there aren't many companies where I can pick up the phone, call the general manager directly, or talk with the same sales team several times a month as different projects move through construction. That's the difference.

One of the things I appreciate most about Fisher & Paykel is that their products feel thoughtfully designed. That's different from simply being packed with features. There's a refinement to them. The reveals around the cabinetry are tighter. The appliances integrate beautifully into the kitchen instead of demanding attention. Everything feels intentional.

That philosophy matched the rest of Mysa Hus. Nothing in this home exists simply because it looks impressive. Everything has a purpose. We didn’t want the kitchen to feel like a showroom when it should be the place where people naturally gather.

When people hear the word "wellness," they often picture the sauna, the cold plunge, or the fitness studio.But wellness also happens around the kitchen island. It's making coffee before the rest of the house wakes up. It's cooking dinner together. It's gathering with family after a long day. That's one of the reasons we chose to go all-electric with induction cooking instead of a gas range. It matched the overall vision for the home while creating a kitchen that feels clean, modern, and enjoyable to use every single day.

The Details You Live With Every Day

Some of my favorite pieces in the kitchen aren't necessarily the biggest ones. I love the integrated refrigerator and freezer, the beverage refrigerators, the built-in coffee system, the warming drawer, and the dishwashers. They're all beautifully designed, but more importantly, they're enjoyable to use.

That's easy to overlook when you're making selections during construction. You'll probably spend more time interacting with your coffee maker, refrigerator, or dishwasher than almost anything else inside your home. Those daily touchpoints deserve just as much thought as the countertops or cabinetry.
