The Blueprint for Intentional Living

Mysa Hus was created as an exploration of what it means to build a home rooted in wellness.

Led by Mark D. Williams Custom Homes, the project brings together Scandinavian philosophy, thoughtful design, and real-life functionality to create a space that supports how a family lives every day.

A Landmark Project

Inspired by the Swedish concept of “mysa”—to cozy up, slow down, and be together—this home was designed to foster connection, comfort, and ease.

The blueprint of this home didn’t start with a design, but instead, a question: what if every element of a home were curated for physical and mental wellbeing? Within these walls is a story told of a life, well-lived.

“Mysa Hus is the home I've been working toward my whole career. It's everything I believe about what a home can do for a family — distilled into one build.” —Mark D. Williams

A dedicated 286 sq ft wellness studio, just steps from the main living space, is designed for the rituals that set the tone for the day.

  • Made for Every Minnesota Season

With a saltwater pool, sauna, and cold plunge, Mysa Hus is designed to embrace all four seasons by integrating outdoor wellness into every part of life.

  • Intentional Gathering Spaces

From a spacious, open living area to a cozy breakfast nook, the home is designed for Sunday dinners, Tuesday-night homework, and everything in between.

  • Sport Court and Game Room

There’s always room for another round. Movement and play are part of wellness, too, and the home is designed with space for every game they’ll want to play.

The Outcome

Mysa Hus represents the way MDW redefines what a home can offer. More than just a beautiful space, this landmark project serves as an opportunity for generations of craft, philosophy, and wellbeing to align under one roof.

It is a home with a story already in its bones — one built to deepen, develop, and grow more richly itself as the family living it does the same. The intersection of high-performance building science, organic materials, biophilic design, and intentional living, all under one roof in the Twin Cities.
