Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Williams.

Hi Mark, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
https://www.mdwilliamshomes.com/about

See the above link for the website about page. In addition, we launched a podcast 2 months ago and rebranded our whole company. We build 3-5 high-end homes a year and 4-7 remodels. We are a small team with a high touch that cares more about craftsmanship than quantity.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Nineteen years we have experienced 2 recessions and all the learning that comes along with those tough roads.

We like all companies struggle with our inner team size in when to grow and when to cut back as the up and down cycles make it a challenge to staff correctly. We have gone where our clients have taken us from our first home at $500k to $4m and we’ll cater to our clients on where they want to take us moving forward.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a high-end boutique custom home builder in Excelsior MN that specialized in teardowns on Lake Minnetonka and surrounding areas.

We are very good at high-touch craftsmanship and pursue the quality over quantity. We have a small team of 6 and have created a family structure around our talented trade pool. We do not have a set style and can do modern/contemporary,  western lodge and traditional classic. Our style changes to fit the client’s needs but our communication and client service are what sets us apart.

We launched “The Curious Builder Podcast” to celebrate MN business owners associated with building a home. We enjoy sharing the stories and behind-the-scenes efforts to be a creator and business owner.

We have brought on builders, architects, designers, etc to create a platform to celebrate and educate. The concept of “collaboration of competing” or “community over competition” is something we really embrace and feel is just lifting us up right now.

We re-launched a new elevated brand and are rolling it out everywhere in q2 of 23′.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
We love people, we love our craft and we want them to come together to create unique and meaningful homes.
