A Behind-the-Scenes Journey of the Fall Artisan Home Tour

The Artisan Home Tour is one of our favorite events because it allows us to showcase some of our very best work and meet others who appreciate great craftsmanship. At its heart, the Artisan Home Tour event is a celebration of custom homes and remodels that showcase the dedication and passion behind every completed project. This year was no exception. It took the whole team to get this event ready to go, and we had a blast doing it!

The Journey to the Fall Artisan Home Tour

I’m always so flattered by all the support we receive during this event. Our community always comes together to support each other, and it’s such a fun thing to be a part of. This event is more than just showcasing a house; it's a two-part plot. There's the public spectacle and the intricate behind-the-scenes efforts to make it all happen. While the tour itself is something you’ll never want to miss, the behind-the-scenes journey to get there was even more fun.

The Unseen Challenges

The year's constraints in budget and timing led to a house that wasn’t yet furnished. It took the whole design team pulling together to make it happen, renting a U-Haul and hauling furniture, pianos, decorative pieces, you name it, between us, the designer and the architect to help stage the final project. Unfortunately, the last-minute scramble for the right decor led to a few fumbles and accidentally breaking a $7,000 marble table- yikes! However, our ace fabricator was able to fix it, WHEW!!!

Team Collaboration

The team effort included Karl Aldebert, the architect of this project, who gave up his weekend to work on the house. Julia, Mark's mother, Susan Boylan Asher, and other industry professionals also played pivotal roles, showcasing the collaborative spirit that defines our work.

While everyone threw down together, there was one unsung hero who deserves a special shout-out! Drew Beson of Drew Beson Art had committed to hang some art for the project, but when he saw all that needed to be done he selflessly gave his entire day to help with the heavy lifting – no strings attached. He definitely saved the day, hauling all sorts of furniture and decor pieces- and no, he isn’t starting a moving business! HUGE shout out to Drew!!

Welcoming the Community

When all was said and done, the Artisan Home Tour drew in a remarkable 670 visitors over three days, showcasing the beautifully completed project and creating lasting memories. Special features like Minneapolis Coffee Carts, sponsored by Pella Windows, made the experience more than just an opportunity to admire the beautiful home design craftsmanship, it was a can’t-miss live event! Live music by Nelson Devereaux, Mark's brother-in-law, set the tone for the fun, social atmosphere.

The Artisan Home Tour

In the world of custom home building, the Artisan Home Tour serves as a testament to the dedication, passion, and collaboration that define our craft. Beyond the classical design of the finished product, this event is a celebration of the hard work, challenges, and community that make each project truly exceptional. As we look back on this Artisan Home Tour, we extend our gratitude to everyone who played a part in making it a resounding success. Until the next tour, let the artistry continue to shine!
